George and Barbara Perkins are a writing and editing team. Their books together include THE AMERICAN TRADITION IN LITERATURE (12th edition, 2009), and also THE HARPERCOLLINS READER'S ENCYCLOPEDIA OF AMERICAN LITERATURE, THE HARPER HANDBOOK TO LITERATURE, WOMEN'S WORK, KALEIDOSCOPE: STORIES OF THE AMERICAN EXPERIENCE, and CONTEMPORARY AMERICAN LITERATURE.
George's most recent solo works include a memoir and history, STONES STAND, WATERS FLOW: A NEW ENGLAND STORY, and RARE DAYS IN LOST VALLEY: THE BELLWETHER UNIVERSITY BOOK OF UNIVERSAL TRUTHS, a novel.
They are currently writing a book about cruising around the world on the Queen Elizabeth II: from China to Southampton in 2006 and from New York to Australia in 2008. Details and excerpts are in the NEWSLETTER.
